Max | Spinal surgery error

Max, 66, was admitted to hospital for spinal surgery that should have solved his back problems. However a mistake by the surgeon meant Max’s spine was operated on at the wrong level and instead of the full recovery Max was expecting his condition worsened considerably. Within 12 months of the surgery he was wheelchair bound.

An MRI scan revealed the mistake but doctors kept the truth from Max and simply referred him to another hospital with the recommendation of more surgery.

Max refused more surgery, which would be of little benefit to him in his condition, and approached solicitors to fight for compensation on his behalf.

A specialist team of Solicitors were able to gain compensation totalling £337,500 for Max in an out of court settlement six days before the case was due to go to court.
