Brian | Workplace accident compensation
Brian suffered superficial electrical burns and pins and needles / numbness to the right hand following an accident at work. He also suffered permanent impairment of pain and temperature appreciation in the finger tips. As a result of these injuries, Brian was out of work for almost 6 months.
Lawyers working on Brian's behalf made a claim against four different defendants. The first was the owner of the public house, where Brian was working and the accident took place, the second was the electrical contractor engaged by the first defendant, the third was Brian’s employer, and the fourth was the manufacturer of the till system which caused Brian his injuries.
Brian was employed to repair the till system after electrical problems, but he was not there to attend to the electrical faults themselves.
During the case an electrical expert was brought in to provide a technical report, and a Health and Safety report was obtained from the Local Authority.
Alan was awarded £4,000 from the second and fourth defendants, as well as having his costs refunded.
