Asbestos compensation claim

Thousands of sufferers of pleural plaques (scarring on the lung caused by exposure to asbestos) are looking to obtain up to £1bn in compensation for their injuries.

The case is being taken to the Court of Appeal in London to end compensation claims for the condition.

Pleural plaques has been accepted as a valid case for compensation for over 20 years. It is associated with an increased risk of future disease and related anxiety, and is commonly seen in cases of employer negligence.
