NHS plans to deal with low value claims
Low value negligence claims from patients harmed during NHS treatment are to be dealt with directly, without the legal system, it has been announced.
The NHS Redress Bill is promised to be outlined in the Queen’s Speech and will set measures to avoid litigation. The system will be overseen by the NHS Litigation Authority, and will be responsible for awarding compensation and providing explanations and apologies to patients.
